If you have visited Australia before, why not try something different and visit Lamington National Park in Queensland, which includes the largest subtropical rainforest remnant in the world and one of the most extensive Antarctic beech cool temperate rainforests in Australia. Then to Fraser Island, located in the Great Sandy National Park.  The island is the largest sand island in the world and you will spend two nights at the renowned Kingfisher Bay Resort.

This is a Personal Choice private tour, organised for two people travelling together.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Brisbane and transfer to your accommodation at Lamington National Park.  After a brief orientation tour there will be time for you to discover the famous ‘Tree Top Walk’ above the rainforest canopy with magnificent views over the Green Mountains, and to watch the spectacular sunset over the Great Dividing Range.

Day 2 – Choose from a selection of 4WD excursions, interpretive rainforest walks or adventure activities.  This evening join the nocturnal Glow Worm walk or just relax in the lounge and learn about the history of the O’Reilly family and Lamington National Park.

Day 3 - This morning you will be transferred to the Queensland Rail ‘Tilt Train’ for your journey to Maryborough and on to Urangan Boat Harbour to board the catamaran for the afternoon cruise across the Great Sandy Strait to Fraser Island.  The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the resort, to take a swim or a bush walk.

Day 4 – Before breakfast join a Ranger to seek out the bird life of the island.  Later, depart on the ‘Beauty Spots’ 4WD Ranger-guided eco-tour and discover amazing pockets of rainforest growing in sand; crystal-clear fresh water lakes; shipwrecks, and coloured sand. Drive along 75-mile Beach and learn the history of Fraser Island.

Day 5 – There will be a Catamaran cruise back, then take the Tilt Train to Brisbane train station.
