Bayreuth will open on 25 July 2012 with a new production of The Flying Dutchman, followed by Tristan and Isolde, Lohengrin, Tannhäuser and Parsifal. These are each repeated six times until the 28 August. We expect to have a small number of packages available of one, two or three operas.
We stay in a comfortable hotel in Bayreuth and our packages include tickets, accommodation, flights and trains. Extensions can be arranged to other German cities. Demand is very great for this short season and we would like to hear from anyone interested as soon as possible. We will get in touch with our list in November to check preferences and packages will be available at the end of January 2012.
Bayreuth town is still in the form of the original village of a thousand years ago. The houses grouped around a road widening into a square; the Town Hall located in the middle, the church slightly apart from it and on a small hill. In the middle of the 18th century the Margravine Wilhelmina built the remarkable theatre, added an impressive palace, the fine church and other improvements, turning Bayreuth into a town of surprising architectural interest.
